Today Denny’s gave out free Grand Slam’s to anyone who showed up! Being one to never turn down a free meal, me, John, and Jonathan, thought we’d take them up on their offer! As you can see in this video, we had allot of fun!
Did you go to Denny’s today? If so, how was it? If not – what did YOU have for breakfast???
{p.s. – I”m not sure why the video is cropped sort of weird, I think the image stabilization had something to do with it. – sorry}
Yesterday I decided to board the TRE and head over to Ft. Worth for a little adventure. I enjoy doing random things like this for several reasons. 1. I get the chance to meet people whom I would never, and hopefully find a way to share Christ with them! 2. These sorts of things really help me to get my creative “juices” flowing, which in turn helps me in my sermon preparation. (and I often find great illustrations by doing these sorts of things. 3. Get’s me out of Dallas for a little while; which is always good! 4. It’s just fun. I enjoy random. Random can be good. Random can be fun. (as long as we’re not talking about Scripture, or teaching Scripture in which order is VITAL. God is a God of order, not a “random” God!) But in life, we need to mix it up sometimes! We need to ride more “trains!”
-Enjoy,
{rick}.
I can’t believe I’m making this public! A few summers back I was part of the programming team for a student venture youth conference in Colorado. We made a series of videos to play during that conference, the fruit of which you are about to witness! I will be posting the rest of these in the coming days! Enjoy!
{p.s. – I apologize in advance for the red tights!}
I was in Tokyo, Japan a few years back, and I got to meet this AWESOME guy. He is some-what famous in Tokyo. He is know as the “eye glass rapper.” He just stands in front of this eyeglass store all day, and raps! He was nice enough to let me spend a few minutes with him! To see more pictures of the trip, click here!
Thanks for sharing this Matt! Your right, these kids are “rad.”
(p.s. – I didn’t mean to hit the zoom button while filming this video, but I really do hope you enjoy my teeth! They are pretty neat!)
“The future is something which everyone reaches at the rate of sixty minutes an hour, whatever he does.”-C. S. Lewis
This is a video I plan on using during a message I’m giving. I normally don’t post “sermon illustrations,” on my website, but this one just blew away! You need to watch it. Trust me.
{due to the HIGH demand for this video I have put up a link for you to download a high res version for you to use. To download the high res version, click here. Also please credit this site when posting to your own blog, etc. Thank you, and enjoy. Also please leave a comment on how you used it, I’d love to hear!}
(Thanks to Shawn for getting me the high res version!)
Innovation 3 has come and gone; but you know what they say – videos are forever. {actually I don’t think anyone says that!} What you are about to see is REAL, the names have NOT been changed to protect anyone. Everyone in this video is a REAL person.
Speaking of “real” – I must say it was really awesome being able to meet so many people for the first time whom I have known on twitter for sometime. It was great to put a person with a profile! When I think about online-social-networking (as a means), doing this sort of stuff is certainly one of the ends (so to speak).
Being able to meet people, connect with people, hear people’s stories, hear people’s heart; is what being “created to relate” is all about! I enjoy these sorts of “events.” I enjoy being around all sorts of people. I enjoy meeting connecting with people all sorts of ways!
I am so thankful that God did not make us to simply live alone, but He has blessed us by creating so many people (and so many creative ways to meet those people) that there is no excuse for anyone to live “alone,” especially in this social-networking-society we live in! I am so thankful for the chance to have meet all of these people in the flesh. I look forward to these types of “events” in the future!
One more thing – please leave your infomation in the comments section. Your twitter name, your website address, what you do, what you dream, what your goals for 2009 are, heck, you can even tell us what your favorite flavor of ice-cream is. I’d just like to “continue the conversation.”
One last {serious} word – if I know you {on any level}, thank you for letting me walk through life with you. I really do consider it an honor!
{rick}.
{p.s. – I still have MUCH more footage from this event that I will be posting, so check back soon. You won’t want to miss the innovation 3 after party! Trust me!}
Yesterday I braved the Dallas ice storm of 2009 and make it out to the Innovation 3 conference. I’m glad I did! It was amazing to meet so many people that I have interacted with, but have never met. I’ll talk more about this in another post, so stay tuned!
One thing I did while at the conference was take a TON of video. So much, in fact, it’s going to take a little time to sort through it all. However, I wanted to give you just a very small taste of what’s to come! I hope you enjoy!
