I worked at IBM when Big Blue "defeated" the Chess champion. That took 64 (if my memory is correct) parallel processors programmed with every Chess match ever played and every possible move. And I still suspect if he had not been so shocked when the computer won he might not have lost. We are still a very long way from a computer capable of true decision-making abilities - and it would only be relying on decisions programmed into it. Those who don't believe this should check out the hilarious ads Google AdWords displays and consider how many words have widely divergent meanings in multiple niches.
